The aim of this blog is principally to find New Zealanders interested in doing democracy differently and to discuss ways and means of implementing sortition, or the selection of groups of citizens by lot to undert
It is hoped that contributions will be constructive, respectful, and aimed at producing ideas than can be implemented, along with offers of help with implementing the suggested projects. Ideas need to be tried out, and experience gained in what works and what does not work in New Zealand. If contributions are based on actual experience, preferably in New Zealand, great. If there are suggestions and proposals to try stuff out, also great. But contributions from some entrenched political position will not be welcome.
